4 Steps to Prevent the Canon CR-190 from Double Feeding

One of the most common service questions Imagex addresses surrounding check scanners is how to resolve checks from jamming, piggybacking, or double feeding through the check transport pathway.

In many cases, this issue is caused by the tension settings of the separation roller gap dial. This adjustment dial adjusts how much width an average check needs to feed through the pathway without a second check feed on top of the first (piggyback).

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Locate the adjustment dial on the side of the unit, which is located under a cover on the side of the unit. Slide the cover to the left to reveal the numbered adjustment dial.

  2. Turn the dial slightly to the right towards the lower number to narrow the gap between the rollers

  3. If single checks now have difficulty feeding through, simply dial back 1 click in the opposite direction towards the higher number.

  4. If double feeding continues, the rollers may need to be replaced and a service request should be submitted
